Green Nature and Nurture project will support 20 young adults aged 18-30 years old, with neurodiverse needs, to
improve their health and wellbeing through a dedicated six month programme of social and therapeutic
horticulture. Social and therapeutic horticulture (STH) is the process of using plants and gardens to improve
physical and mental health, as well as communication and thinking skills. Green Nature and Nurture will deploy
STH activities using their Hillside Community Garden as a safe, peaceful and secure place to develop young adults
ability to mix socially, make friends and learn practical skills that will help them to be more independent, build
resilience and can improve their physical and emotional wellbeing.
