Hope Meadows Equine Assisted Recovery CIC was created to help support the mental health of people living in Lincoln, Hykeham, and the surrounding areas. The idea arose from conversations with people in these communities, founded on what they said we could do to support them to live well and build fulfilling lives.
Here, we believe in the power of horses to support your wellbeing. Numerous research studies have shown the potential of working with horses in reducing distress, improving emotional regulation, building self-esteem and increasing overall wellness. We are keen to make these special animals accessible to those living in our local community who might need them.
At Hope Meadows our wonderful staff will support you to interact with, and learn about, our small herd of horses. By doing this, you will have the chance to:
Talk about any struggles you might be having
Learn new skills and build confidence around horses
Think about new ways to cope with difficult thoughts and emotions
Pay attention to the present moment through mindfulness-based activity
Take action to create the life you want to live
Meet, and support, others facing similar challenges
Our sessions are suitable for anyone aged 5+ who would like support with their mental well-being. You may have received a diagnosis (e.g depression, anxiety, personality disorder) or you may not, either is fine. We welcome people from all walks of life.
You do not need to have any prior experience with horses, and this is a non-ridden activity.
