Stamford U3A is part of the University of the Third Age, a self help organisation of people no longer in full-time employment, providing education, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.
U3A membership is not related to any specific age but to a period in one’s life (the third age) after the second age of full-time employment and parental responsibility.
Anyone in their third age can join U3A and this includes people who are working part time. All you need is interest and enthusiasm.
Stamford U3A includes members from the town and surrounding villages, and is a growing group of around seven hundred members.
If you are interested in joining our U3A, why not come along to one of our monthly meetings, or telephone the Secretary if you would like to find out more first. We are always looking for new friends to join us and perhaps add to our group activities.
Our monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at Barn Hill, except for Bank Holidays. Members get together for a coffee and to hear what the various interest groups are doing.
Coffee will be served from 9:45 am and the meeting starts at 10.30.
