Lincolnshire Suicide Prevention Strategy Grant Fund

£75,000 Fund Launched to Support Suicide Prevention Initiatives in Lincolnshire

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new £75,000 fund dedicated to supporting countywide community led projects aimed at reducing suicide risk and enhancing mental health support across Lincolnshire.

The core aim of the funding is to support the delivery of the Lincolnshire Suicide Prevention Strategy by focusing on three key priorities:

  • Support with the achievement of the eight commitments within the strategy;
  • Target specific risk factors and characteristics associated with suicide risk as identified in the Lincolnshire Suicide Audit; and
  • Focus on tackling health inequalities regarding suicide risk

The funding initiative is designed to empower local organisations and community groups to deliver innovative and impactful activities that address the critical issue of suicide prevention across Lincolnshire, with organisations able to request a maximum £25,000 to deliver a Countywide project that align with the following key objectives:

  • Reduce the risk of suicide: Fund projects that have a measurable impact on reducing suicide risk within Lincolnshire.
  • Increase Access to Support: Projects that enhance access to mental health resources, crisis intervention, and support services for individuals at risk of suicide or self-harm are encouraged to apply.
  • Support High-Risk Groups: Targeted efforts to reach and support high-risk populations are a priority for this fund.
  • Raise Awareness and Education: We aim to promote awareness, reduce stigma, and educate communities on recognising the signs of suicidal behaviour and the importance of mental health.
  • Innovate Prevention Strategies: Innovative approaches to suicide prevention, including the use of technology, peer support, and community-based interventions, will be highly valued.
  • Build Capacity and Sustainability: Strengthening the capacity of organisations to deliver effective suicide prevention services and create sustainable, long-term impact is essential.

To assist interested applicants in understanding the fund’s objectives and the application process, an Information Session will be held via Teams from 14:00 – 15:00 23rd September 2024.

The session will be hosted by representatives from Shine and Public Health and will provide valuable insights into how organisations can maximize their chances of securing funding to deliver projects that have the potential to make a significant difference in our community.

In addition, we are offering one-to-one support sessions with Shine and Public Health. These sessions provide a unique opportunity for applicants to receive tailored guidance on their proposals, ensuring alignment with the fund’s objectives prior to submitting an expression of interest. 15 minute sessions will be available to book on the 23rd September from 15:15-16:30.

We encourage all eligible organisations to attend the information session and take advantage of the one-to-one support sessions.

Stage 1 Expressions of interest for the fund will open on 7th October 2024 and will be accepted until 12 Noon on 18th October 2024.
