Impact and Achievements

An Overview of our Impacts and Achievements

Funding & Project Support

Since March 2023 we have administered funding to over 70 projects, reaching over 7,492 beneficiaries

Participants from such projects report finding a safe, non-judgemental space to talk, make connections with new people & found out about other support available to them. Their feedback says it helped them feel less lonely and isolated and that they learnt new skills.

Networking & Signposting

Since March 2023 we have distributed over 20,000 Shine Connect magazines and created over 300 networking opportunities

Our quarterly newsletter is delivered to communities and professionals countywide, with 5,000 digital copies, too. It's created with content from the community, for the community and provides a local support service directory. Shine’s Celebrating Our Communities event saw over 300 attendees from the statutory and voluntary sector, acting as a conduit to building and maintaining strong working networks. Our monthly e-news shares projects, training and funding opportunities from local & national organisations.

Peer Support

Up to 15 Peer Support Workers and 8 Long COVID Peer Support Groups

Linking NHS services with Community Mental Health Services, we train and employ Peer Support Workers to provide 1-2-1 support in local NHS Integrated Place Based Teams. We employ a Long COVID Peer Support Worker, who has collaborated with communities to form self-sustaining peer groups especially for those affected by long-COVID.

Education & Training

Over 223 participants trained in Mental Health since March 2023

We continue to deliver Mental Health First Aid, Suicide First Aid and Emergency First Aid for children and adults. We offer this to all industries at competitive prices, to enable everyone to look out for themselves & others, physically & mentally.
